Asking for a friend using Indian passport.

The question is directed to Indian passport holders who have recently entered Thailand on visa exempt, especially entering via Phuket.

We're you asked for proof of sufficient funds, proof of accommodation and onward ticket by immigration?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry addresses whether Indian passport holders entering Thailand on a visa-exempt status, particularly through Phuket, are commonly asked by immigration for proof of sufficient funds, accommodation, and an onward ticket. Respondents share that while these documents are usually requirements, the enforcement can vary based on individual encounters with immigration officers, suggesting that being prepared is prudent even if not universally requested.

It doesn't matter if anyone has or hasn't, it's pot luck and down to the IO you see when you're getting your stamp.

It's better to have it and not need it then not have it and need it.

If you are asked or not the formal requirement is”

Foreigners entering Thailand must possess adequate finances for the duration of stay in Thailand (i.e., cash 10,000 Baht per person and 20,000 Baht per family).

yes. I know all that. I'm asking for recent experience from Indian passport holders. Not sure I could have worded it more clearly. And for visa exempt it's 20,000 and 40,000

Immigration stereotypes and profiles. If you fit in their profile you will be questioned.

thanks. I'm asking if anyone with Indian passport has recent experience. 😍

This is a requirement for everyone. Who gets asked and who doesn't is the crapshoot. Just because

people didn't get asked doesn't mean your friend won't be asked.

Sure. Was asking if anyone with Indian passport has recent experience. I'll edit the question to make it a bit clearer😉

that's why I specifically mentioned it not mattering about anyone's experience. It's a requirement. Even if no one has been asked in the last year, your friend could still be asked. Easier to meet the requirement and then not have to worry about it.
