The whole point of COVID extensions was for people who were having trouble returning home - it was never meant as a way to stay here long term when you can get on a plane and leave. Be grateful that you were able to get one.
may be true at times but it bypasses the BS of having to try to find a taxi that will use the meter and not try to rip you off. Knowing what the cost is upfront and with the driver knowing exactly where you want to you is worth every baht.
Cash is by far the easiest. Cards are accepted in bigger hotels, shopping malls, supermarkets and other large retailers but in general everyday transactions, cards won't be accepted. QR Code payments have become huge here in the last 3-4 years - even local market-stall holders accept QR Code payments but you need a Thai bank account to use the system.
