TLDR : Answer Summary
The requirement for filing a TM 30 when entering Thailand varies by local immigration office. Generally, if you are returning to the same address, you typically do not need to file again after short trips within Thailand. However, a new filing is required each time you re-enter Thailand from abroad, within 24 hours. Some offices operate on stricter guidelines, requiring a new TM 30 for any overnight stays away from home regardless of the length. It is advisable to check with your local immigration office for their specific policies.
I'm in Isaan and my immigration don't care if I move around country or exit and re-enter. They only want to see 90 day report. Check with your local office
Technically the foreigner doesn't have to file any TM30. The hotel that person stays at, or the owner of the property, must file within 24 hours, and it is done online once you register. Immigration usually does not require a new filing if the foreigner was only gone a few days. If more than a week of being gone then file again, as the immigration computer system shows everything. Think of the timeframe as being a vacation someone would take over a long weekend, or over a holiday. Anything longer than that then file again
not with all immigration offices. Did a 90 day report last week having been out of the country and CM Immigration had zero issues with my filed TM30 from about four years ago - and they did check it.
Week ago I talked about this with officer at Jomtien imm office. Visit any hotels within Thailand and come back no need for new TM 30. Come back from abroad new report needed within 24 hours.
I was doing my TM 30 late, officer did not fine me but next time i will get fine iwas told. This is "Pattaya rule" i quess..
You have to ask your local immigration office what their policy is. They all have their own policy and it changes from time to time.
The most common is that you don't need to file again if you traveled somewhere inside the country but return to your same address. But you would need to file each time you leave Thailand and return.
Some offices want you to do it every single time you spend the night away from home, and some don't care even if you leave the country. The only way to know is to ask.
