I never like linking to the dark side but this is relevant here - a guy knocked back for a 30 day visa extension in Koh Samui due to getting a red stamp from the Penang consulate for having too many tourist visas.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A recent post discusses the experience of an individual who was denied a 30-day tourist visa extension in Koh Samui due to a previous visa overstay flagged by the Penang consulate. Community comments share insights about the inconsistency of immigration offices, suggest alternative offices for visa extension, and question the reliability of database connections between consulates and immigration offices in Thailand.

Ah interesting ... I was talking with this guy or someone with exactly the same experience and was dubious about this 'computer system'

There are ways to differentiate troll posts from genuine ones. In some cases, user just signed up "yesterday", in other cases older username with zero posting over the last year or so. Pedantic writing also, which raises some alarms. All in all, I would call that poster a troll.
However, if real, there are always other Immigration offices to try as Tod said.

I'd say they should try another immigration office :/ It was just a Samui thing (which is a bad office to begin with)
There is NO such thing as the thai consulates outside the country and immigrations offices inside thailand being linked by ANY data base or system. >:( That was total b/s from the immigration office
He could have gotten a 7 day extension denied, get out of thailand stamp for 1900 baht. AND he could have appealed the denial of the extension IF he wanted to (the only 30 day extension denial you can't appeal is off a 30 day visa exempt entry stamp).
I don't want this topic to turn into more of a shit storm than it is on the T/V forum already. I'll leave it open for now but if it goes sideways I'll have to close it.
Thanx for posting it (y)
