Can I change a Non-Imm B visa to a BOI class Non-Imm B for longer stay and multiple entries?

Hopefully I won't trigger anyone here - but I got a Non-Imm B in KL today and it's an old fashioned stamp.

My question is not related to a work permit - that I get when I return given a couple of weeks, but maybe Tod Daniels, maybe someone else can answer this - I've been told, right or wrong, that this can be changed at immigration to a BOI class of Non-Imm B that will allow M.E. as well as possibly 2 years instead of one.

Any ideas? Not looking for an argument versus feedback from anyone who has gotten a Non-Imm B via a BOI company.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around obtaining a Non-Immigrant B visa stamped in Kuala Lumpur, with an inquiry about transitioning to a BOI class Non-Imm B that permits multi-entry and potentially a two-year extension. Commenters clarify that the initial Non-Imm B visa typically allows for a 90-day stay and that an extension must be applied for thereafter, suggesting contacting the Board of Investment for specific conditions regarding such extensions.

Friend of mine got his Non B from Hong Kong last week and it’s same like this. A stamp instead of the usual sticker. Maybe both Thai embassies ran out of stickers?

This single entry Non Immigrant B visa will only give you 90 days of stay, not 1 year. Within that period you have to apply for the 1 year Extension of Stay based on working. You can contact the Board of Investment if you can get Extensions based on their conditions.
