My mom booked her flight two months ago to come visit. We were very excited to know she was on her way after a bevy of paperwork that needed to be updated consistently. After receiving a 28 page updated “manifesto” of new regulations for Omicron from the airline, she gave up. In addition, just one regulation said the test needed to be taken two days before the flight, but the results would not be ready for three days.

Right on. A lot of people just get dissatisfied with staying home even if it means going somewhere worse. 🙂

It says in your passport how many days you have. You can renew 15 days before the due date.

if you have been here since the start of the pandemic, it’s been fairly easy to extend. They don’t ask for anything anymore.

it’s the cheapest plan they have as I keep the number strictly for official purposes. I don’t ever use it to call abroad. There are too many internet applications that let you do that for free.

I live in China. Then got stuck in Thailand. All the time I still retain my T-mobile number, which I got in Hawaii about 14 months ago. I don’t have the sim put in any phone. However, I do check messages with their online application “DIGITS”. You can call through the application too.

I was in Koh Samui immigration on Wednesday. I asked the IO about my options. My girlfriend is Chinese. The IO said that she would need to leave by July 31 like me even though there was a notice back in February on the immigration window that stated “Chinese can stay until the virus ends”. Nevertheless, the IO said “that was just a notice; the amnesty is law. “

I then asked her about overstaying as an option. She said that if you you are caught by an investigator, even on a first day overstay, you will be put in jail, fined the 20,000, and will get a ban of five years. But if you show up at the airport, you will just pay the 20,000, and get a ban of 1-5 years. Essentially, you can overstay here for years and still pay the 20,000, and get a lengthy ban of 1-10 years, depending on how long you stayed. Just don’t get caught.

if you have $637 (20,000 TB), you can overstay for three more months, and see how the re-entry climate is back to china. But will you have a job secured there? What kind of visa will you have?
