I understand your personal belief. Are you residing in the country you come from? The “centre of life”? And we are no longer on vacation. I cannot return to my job of 10 years in China. And to be forced to go back to the US, a place that is worse off now, is unreasonable. If you can afford to stay here, it should be no problem. Your money goes into the troubled Thai economy.
I don’t think it’s time for everybody to go home. People should just stay put—not risk a “Columbian Exchange” of microbes. It has nothing to do with “generosity”. I believe more in keeping the world together. Not “them” vs “us”. And tourism is about 20% of the Thai GDP. Why get rid of the remnants of that 20%? NOBODY is coming to do tourism in the near future here.
I believe it is essentially an airline question. If there aren’t enough flights to meet the demand of people required to leave, how will this be possible? The airlines have to be ready to go with unblocked borders to destinations and buyable fares.
