TLDR : Answer Summary
The general consensus is to apply for your Thai visa as soon as possible, especially if you're traveling on December 22. However, for the Thai Pass, you need to wait until after December 1 to submit your application. Ensure you have all required documents ready before applying. Some users suggest checking specific requirements regarding the RT-PCR test and vaccination documentation.

How long are you gonna be gone for? Not a lot of time for visa approval with everybody trying to get visas.

My Thai pass took 3-4 days. Very pleased with the whole process. Visa is another story but depends on the Thai embassy in your region.

My mom booked her flight two months ago to come visit. We were very excited to know she was on her way after a bevy of paperwork that needed to be updated consistently. After receiving a 28 page updated “manifesto” of new regulations for Omicron from the airline, she gave up. In addition, just one regulation said the test needed to be taken two days before the flight, but the results would not be ready for three days.

Good luck. I’ve been booked and Thailand pass approved. Whole trip blew up because Japan closed borders. My connection was Tokyo. I’m missing my own wedding, beyond devastated. No reroute available. Trust me I’ve tried everything. My son has been there two weeks. It will be the loneliest holidays ever. I will not go through Beijing, had a bad experience there.

Hint: Convert your documents into jpg , not pdf Make sure they are less than 5MB in size

Once I filed documents correctly, I was approved in less than 5 min.

I also uploaded a QR code with my vaccination verification

It was pretty easy and painless ha

If you're from the US, don't expect to have your results in 5 minutes. QR code processing currently only works for EU and Singapore.

I'm sure most people do not get accommodations for an entire two month period ahead of their Visa application. Is there a common trick I can utilize here?

its on Thai pass page for arrivals after December 15th do not apply until December 1st. They were going to introduce antigen tests at airport and do away with one night in hotel.

That was going to be announced today but with this new variant I believe they will cancel that for now until they get a better understanding of what the new variant means
