Anonymous participant 924 most of the staff are not Thai. The consulate in Australia is absolutely closed Christmas New Years etc. it would be illegal not to.

Immigration has repeatedly confirmed that online work does not require a work permit as long as you are not serving customers based in Thailand.

You only need a certificate of residence. But as someone above said, you won't be eligible for finance.

because soft power is much more expensive, not really that challenging to work out why people would rather save 50,000 baht.

Using soft power option over the whole five years would likely cost hundreds of thousands vs 0 baht for the workcation option.
