Hello everyone, I have a history of a lot of Visa Run (1 year and half) but never overstayed. Does someone got his DTV rejected because of long history of visa run?

In your point of view which place is the best to apply DTV? Which soft power get accepted more easily (Samui) ?

I had a long history of visits, stays of 6 months or more per year. I was warned/questioned at the airport during 2019 for over an hour, and also during 2023.

Now when I finally have a DTV, entry was the smoothest ever. No questions, not a word. Just stamped in.

Why spend 10.000 thb on a visa plus some cost to get documents needed for soft power?

And after that continue to be illegal in Thailand?

Waste of time and money.

But that is my point of view, get the correct visa so you be able to continue to work on-line and not have to worry as you are legal in Thailand.

For once I disagree with you. The DTV visa is available for those who wish may apply for it.

We both have said many times in advising Thai Visa groups to Get the Correct Thai Visa.

The DTV visa is a correct and legal Thai Visa.

The real target šŸŽÆ market for the DTV visa are the many millions of Digital Nomads in the World... seeking to draw them to Thailand. That's a huge economic benefit to Thailand.

The addition of the soft power activity is a surprising addition... and its future remains to be seen in the months and years ahead.

He want to apply for soft power, NOT for working on-line

I keep my advice, get the correct visa for your stay which is not a visa based on a cooking school to work on-line.

Next advice is to avoid the financial requirement of the Non Immigrant O visa based on retirement, just apply for the purpose internship.

Same visa so who cares.

It's not illegal to work online in Thailand and never has been.

I guess you might be right as:

"In Thailand, "work" has a very broad legal definition under the Alien Employment Act, meaning any activity requiring physical or mental effort, whether or not for wages or benefits, requiring a work permit for foreigners.

typing on a keyboard telling others it is not physical but for sure you need a special mental effort to be able to do it.

Immigration has repeatedly confirmed that online work does not require a work permit as long as you are not serving customers based in Thailand.

The DTV fits your pattern of visits, no problem with you applying. You apply outside of Thailand. Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia are popular application spots near to Thailand.
