Hi guys, I need some advice regarding the DTV visa 🙏

I work as a freelancer (service-based work). My contracts are not tied to any specific location — it doesn’t matter where I perform the work.

The consulate has now requested confirmation from 3 of my clients — basically supporting letters stating that they are okay with me working remotely.

My questions are:

1️⃣ Is it enough to prove that I am a freelancer by providing contracts, invoices, and a description of my activity?

2️⃣ Or are client letters actually mandatory?

3️⃣ If letters are required — what format is usually accepted?

• free-form letter?

• company letterhead?

• signature / stamp required?

I’d really appreciate any real-life experience 🙌

Especially from those who applied for DTV as freelancers.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on the DTV visa application process as a freelancer, specifically whether it's sufficient to provide contracts and invoices to prove freelance work, or if client letters are mandatory. Comments indicate that client letters are typically required, often including company letterhead and signatures, and are considered standard documentation by consulates.

If the consulate asked for the letters then they are mandatory for that particular consulate

It is the norm to have to submit a letter from your client/employer supporting you working in Thailand, I submitted 2 such letters from my clients, they were free-form letters with a signature and stamped. They were stamped as that is the norm with Japanese firms. Some countries it is no longer the norm to use a company ink stamp. I highlighted payment info on bank statements from the clients, contracts, testimonials and work description.

I recently applied as a freelancer(photo and video editor, photography mentor). I have freelance service contract with well known media agency and also attached my professional portfolio, contract showing company logo, signed and earning income reports, explanation of how I earn money and workflow. The embassy didn’t requested me like that. They requested other things. But in ur case, now that they do, u should ask client confirmation letter with their company letter head and signed. And explain them about your job workflow and how u earn money. (Like how many projects u get per month and how long does it take for u to finish projects). Hope it helps.
