Went to Samui immigration to get extension on visa waiver. Already had 30 days extension so went to apply for additional extension due to not being able to fly.
I am Australian so no embassy letter was available. Only got 7 days extension.
If you are going to Samui immigration at the moment, best to arrive 8am or earlier.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian expat sought to extend their visa waiver at Samui immigration due to an inability to fly. After already receiving a 30-day extension, they were granted only a 7-day extension without an embassy letter. Others advised that an embassy letter could facilitate a longer extension, suggesting a potential process to secure a letter and applying for an emergency extension.
As people pointed out (and as I messaged you) you got a 7 day application for extension not approved stamp because you didn't have the embassy letter <- which you CAN get now :/
You get the letter, you go back and apply for an "unable to travel due to covid-19" emergency extension with the embassy letter. The immigration office will give you an under consideration stamp for 15 days for 1900baht (or that's what Samui is doing) AND when that runs down you go back and you will get it extended for the rest of the 30 days for free.
