I am cool doing it myself, it’s just that the Airbnb I am staying in is ā€œflying under the radarā€ and the landlord would rather not have to fill out any kind of form and be noticed…so I need to think of plan B.

you are being pedantically annoying. The question was clear: does he get 60 days on arrival with a UK passport?

Answer: YES!!!

indeed, it is called Visa on Arrival or Visa Exempt meaning you can jump on the plane and they give you a 60 days visa stamp on your passport on arrival which can be extended for another 30 days.

I should know, I arrived 3 weeks ago!

Yes, 60 days on arrival that you can extend by another 30 days for the cost of 1900 Bahts if you go to the nearest Immigration Office where you are before your 60 days expire.

I’ve always heard that the word ā€œfarangā€ originated from the word ā€œfarangcetā€ which was the best way a Thai person could prononce / repeat the nationality ā€œfranƧaisā€ when told by a french person.

It became ā€œfarangā€ with time to describe a white skin foreigner.

But this might just be a storyā€¦šŸ¤”

Thai don’t want to have whiter skin because they are racists. Having a whiter skin means that you are not a lower class citizen who works outside like on the side roads doing construction work. It’s a sign of higher class in society who can even afford to not work.

I live in the Uk and I use Columbus Travel Insurance.

My last long trip to Thailand in 2022 lasted 5 months and Columbus covered it all. It is not cheap, expect around £400.

When are you going to Canada? Can’t you have your passport renewed in Bangkok before you go?
