Alessandro Antonini. It depends on a couple of factors, such as whether where you stay in another province notified immigration. During covid many establishments haven't bothered notifying, often if you stay in smaller establishments and pay cash they don't notify, many immigration offices don't bother about it, whereas some will even insist on a POA from the owner, so that a tenant can file. The parameters vary remarkably. However, when someone asks the question I think it's best to give the correct information, so they are prepared for a worse case scenario.
. I'm surprised people are still applying for the STV because it's really outdone its usefulness. I think it was released as a bit of a gimmick to get people in for a longer term than normal, but it didn't really take off, as many saw the opportunities of getting 90-day non-O visas as being more flexible. However, by the time the OP's extension expires in November, there's always a chance that a land border may be open (my money is on Laos) to facilitate changing to a more useful visa. Fingers crossed! 😀
STV is extended from the expiry date of the previous stamp for 90 days. So if yours expires August 15, your next extension will be until November 13. The Immigration Department has already announced no further extensions will be granted after September 30, so you won't be able to get the third one.
