Darren. It amazes me why people stuff around with public transport going to Don Mueang. What is it? About four hundred baht and you're dropped at the door.
Joachim Campe. You can legally move from TR visa to non-O retirement visa. People do it all the time. The cost is 1900baht, unless people are stupid enough to pay an agent 30,000 baht plus
The 50,000 is through an agent who will pass money under the table to an IO. Your best strategy is to apply through a legitimate school who will charge you an inclusive fee for the course and the visa application
Do you already have a Thai bank account? You need to have 800,000 baht in the account for two months before you apply. With a visa exempt entry, you're cutting it fine and might not get in within the time period, even with the 30 day extension. If you've already got an account it's no problem, otherwise look at a TR visa which will give you a buffer of 15 days
. I don't like it because it's too rigid. As the last extension is September 29, it's only good now up to December 28. If you plan to come now, and definitely leave before Dec 28, it's fine. Don't believe any stories that agents can fix it up in Thailand. Agents will not touch it
Kelvin Tidy. I don't have a friend in India. The question was posted by Bunny Sharma. I was merely responding with a strategy. To organise a volunteer foundation to sponsor a volunteer visa might take months, so there is no harm in investigating possibilities for the future.
