The recent changes to Thailand's Elite Card program aim to attract foreign investment, particularly targeting affluent individuals. However, community reactions express skepticism regarding the program's effectiveness, citing existing stringent visa regulations and the dissatisfaction among current members. Many commenters criticize the government's approach as being overly focused on wealthy foreigners while failing to provide adequate support for those already invested in Thailand. Concerns are raised about the practicality of these investments given the current climate of strict entry requirements.

I find it really strange that most countries and their politicians etc have evolved since the Middle Ages yet Thailand are still trying to even figure out their arse from their elbow.....

If you have that kind of money to invest you get other people to work for you.
Why would people invest if you have the strictest of entry requirements?

instead of coming up with all this ridiculous ideas first, treat the elite members like elites first. Here we are being promised priority and entry and yet only a handful have been approved and got into Thailand. If they can't even keep the current members happy, how the hell are they gonna attract more members.

I am SO GLAD that I didn't buy the membership. I'm gonna wait it out for sure until this COVID thing is under control.
They just come up with stupid ideas for rich people, who don't want to visit Thailand.

Who will consume all of that investment if the Goverment craizy enough to change easily visa regulation and making foreigners difficult to come in. You now even need $

So...
Program 1: They are going to add the cost of a 10 year elite membership to the price of a 10MB condo.
Program 2: If you get a 1MB membership, and invest 1M USD in Thailand, you can get a work permit to... Uh... Work in Thailand for some reason...
yep, I think I'd keep the $1,000,000 in my bank account and move to a country that does actually allow me to obtain citizenship based on residency, not on how much I line the pockets of the already rich public figures.
