except by definition Jr is you. Sr is your parent with whom you share your name, that's the difference between two different human beings.

I'm saddened to hear that you will have to pay again, but it's now a lesson learned about accuracy with Visa documents.

Legally when you change visa types you have to change the dependent attached Visa as well this is required since her visa is tied to a no longer valid DTV.

You will want to get your non-being and cancel her DTV dependent and get her a non-o-dependent tied to your non-b.

With an agent you can probably do it in country, without an agent you may very well need a border run.

The tm-86 change of Visa form is not always something that they want to do in country even though it is a valid immigration form.

There is a strong preference for doing what is familiar by most people working in the government offices and if they are not familiar with the change it is going to come across as strange to them.

My wife is a Visa agent so we have access to most rules for most provinces because honestly there's no way to keep track of all 73.

Moreover, they're about to move to a digital work permit system as well (change in progress arm), so I would imagine all visas; dependent or otherwise, will soon be tied to the online system.as it's clear they're moving that way.

We are now in phase 1 of ours. Initial. Doing the setup etc for the big one in 3 months. Congratulations.

We don't mind a home visit, but we are using an agent with the whole hand the passport over and then get it back 45 days later.

Only 44 days til that is the plan.

Initial no. Extension. Yes, I think.

Pay for the multi entry 1 year extension. The marriage initial visa is 90 days. Period.

Source. Married to a Thai and on a Non-O.

That said you can buy a re-entry pass when you plan to leave even if you did not get the multi entry on your extension even if they've removed the ability that used to allow the multi entry extension.

I just cited that I understood they don't transfer the paper initial visa. "They don't xfer the initial paper visa. But they will copy stamps to a new passport." We aren't disagreeing here at all.

I've lived here the better part of a decade and I am married to a Thai and I speak, read and write Thai.

My name is now a Thai name, monk given, and my surname is my spouse's. Sorry if I seemed to be disagreeing with you in any way. I wasn't.

For the paper "initial visa" you will need to keep both passports around.

I had immigration move my stamps from my old passport to my new one. They don't xfer the paper initial visa. But they will copy stamps to a new passport and it even cites your old number in the stamp that says what Passport the stamps came from initially.

actually they do. It's required for the marriage affidavit. I still have a copy of mine from my marriage. That said, Bangkok Bank seems to be unraveling fast. Ugh. I am glad I let my Bangkok Bank account go years back.

Do a transfer of Visa and Extension. Don't overstay.

changes to acceptance of diplomas on Non-B. Bangkok changed to full legalization only. Two years later. Without any warning. Almost every province switched to the same leaving those with Apostilles (Yes I know Thailand isn't a Hague country but they did accept them), State Seals, and Affidavits of Affirmation, to have to change their documents without warning. Many people risked losing jobs they'd had for 5+ years because the change was not announced.

Thai immigration norms 'can' shift fast, it doesn't always, but it can.
