staff at the embassy have no clue about how immigration staff works at the airport. I’ve done 20+ trips on visa exemption, so it’s 100% guaranteed you won’t get any trouble if you have a ticket to leave, and a booking

Enter by visa exemption. Tourist visa won’t do you any good. You will just spend money on paper with no guarantee to entry.

Travelled with a group recently from Cambodia to Thailand. The only ones who were stopped for questioning were those who after leaving Thailand got a setv in Cambodia before coming back.

If you do want a visa, next time when you travel home, get an metv available for 6 months, and can be used for 2 or more trips

tourist visa is useless at this point. Maybe next year get a multiple entry tourist visa, but the normal one does not guarantee you entry and is rendered useless by 60 days visa exemptions

unless you drive a vehicle, or you get visited due to an overstay, the chances of being asked by police to show your passport on the street to prove legal status are close to 0.

Single entry Tourist visa won’t help, it will only make it look sketchier from my experience. If you want you can actually get from Ireland a multiple entry tourist visa which at least has some advantages over the single entry one

The single entry tourist visa is just a waste of money in your case and no guarantee of entry. Seen people who could have gotten in visa exempt being asked questions because it perplexes them why someone would use a tv instead of visa exemption

Multiple entry tourist visa is something I would get, but I live in Vietnam when not in Thailand.

no one here has been able to define what a genuine tourist is and when they did, they would have excluded by definition most returning visitors. The immigration officers aren’t able to do it either.

I spend 4 months in hotels in Thailand each year travelling and relaxing. As far as I am not working, or renting long term low income appartments, no one can claim I am not a tourist

I did it in 15 minutes at AIS and 20 at the bank, but each branch seems to live in it’s own universe

there is no system to game. If such a system existed paid border runs through agencies would have been impossible and they would have stated in a clear law how long you can stay in Thailand on visa exempt status. At this moment the so called system only creates confusion
