TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on re-entering Thailand after a previous 60-day stay. They wonder if they can obtain another 60 days upon arrival on a UK passport or if they should explore alternative visa options. Community responses indicate varying opinions, emphasizing that while many travelers have successfully returned under the visa exemption rule, there’s some uncertainty about the decision of immigration officers. The advice includes the importance of having proof of funds, accommodation, and an onward ticket, as well as considering a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa (METV) for future travels.

Should be okay

You don’t get any correct answers here! It all depends on the officer in immigration
Primož *******
Your odds will be better, if you stay out of Thailand a little more.....

U will know once u apply online 3 days before entry the TDAC arrival card which will say your period of stay in thailand
Stuart *********
@Frankie ******
The TDAC has nothing to do with any visa type (or exempt entry). All foreigners fill it out regardless of what visa they hold. It doesn’t give you any time on entry. Your visa gives you that. Visa exempt is currently 60 days.

No problem. I'm currently here on my 4th trip this year. As long as you have return ticket you will be ok.

Thank you very much everyone I was going to maybe visit the Thai consulate here in Vietnam and see what they recommend is my best and safest option, as it’s only for travel purposes but I feel a lot more safer there so would like to see some more before I head back home x thanks for all advice x

staff at the embassy have no clue about how immigration staff works at the airport. I’ve done 20+ trips on visa exemption, so it’s 100% guaranteed you won’t get any trouble if you have a ticket to leave, and a booking
Jordan *****
@Demi ********
Enter by visa exemption. Tourist visa won’t do you any good. You will just spend money on paper with no guarantee to entry.

Travelled with a group recently from Cambodia to Thailand. The only ones who were stopped for questioning were those who after leaving Thailand got a setv in Cambodia before coming back.

If you do want a visa, next time when you travel home, get an metv available for 6 months, and can be used for 2 or more trips
Tony *************
@Jordan ****
what is a metv
Stuart *********
No one can give a definite answer to this as it’s up to an individual immigration officer to decide.

You should be fine, but if questioned have the three proofs - 20,000 baht or equivalent in CASH, proof of accommodation for the first few nights and a valid ticket out of Thailand.
Tony *************
@Stuart ********
I had all three of them one of which is my place in Pattaya, which I’ve had since 2004 they refused me entry and I had to fly back to the UK that night they are Muppets specially as they’re supposedly desperate for people to come to Thailand
Chris *******
The rules have surly changed

If your in a position to get one

Do it

People have been talking about coming back visa exempt a second time and getting the tutorial about not allowed

The few post I’ve seen were allowed in eventually but I’m sure it’s a hassle

Good luck

Just apply to the consulate embassy and pay 1000 baht and enter Thailand and get another 60 days
Tony *************
@Eric *********
pay them 1000 baht for what?
Eric **********
@Tony ************
For tourist visa
Tony *************
@Eric *********
but isn’t that what you get when you turn up & they stamp your passport
Eric **********
@Tony ************
I did 90 days. I extended at local immigration 60 plus 30. When I left to do a border bounce I was pulled into another room and quizzed by immigration officials. But I was already advised beforehand to apply online for the E visa which is what I did. It seems immigration does not like tourists trying to get more than 90 days anymore for free. It only cost 1000 baht and I got another 60 day stamp. Now I can stay another 90 days with another immigration stamp
Eric **********
@Chris ******
very easy just done it

Should be fine.

You should be good
