I am in UK and have just recieved my non-o (other) visa for intended retirement visa. With the stricter controls at Thai immigration would it be advisable to have exit ticket (eg train to Loas) ?

Hi, may I ask how you handle the 60+30 day visa? Do you book your return flight directly for departure in 90 days? What happens if the extension isn't approved? On the other hand, I don't want to book my return flight for the 60th day if I plan to stay for 90 days.

I am still deciding over a Single entry Visa or a second Visa exempt after remaining 59 days this year. But my question is, when asking for the Visa or filling TDAC can i put my real exit date ? I plan to stay around 88 days, so i will ask for an extension near the end of the 60 days. Flying in Emirates, they will allow me to change my return date for a (big) fee, so i could buy a ticket with a return in the 60 day interval and then change. But is it necessary to havbe this kind of expense ? Immigration will understand i am able to extend those 60 days . Thanks

Hi, I'm heading back to Thailand for the 3rd time withing 6-7 months ( unplanned as I've been invited to a wedding).... I'll get visa exemption.... Is it ok to book a onward ticket to Malaysia (KL) ? Or do the neighbouring country rules apply for visa exemption too?? ..... Just don't want extra hassle with me being in and out a few times already.

Thanks!

We have booked accommodation in Thailand for 89 days. We are Canadian and planning to arrive and use the 60 day visa exemption. If our accommodation end date and return flight are both 89 days after arrival is that a problem? We plan to do a 30 day extension but worry that the onward ticket already dated 89 days later will be a problem on arrival. We were in Thailand using visa exemption in January of this year and came home to Canada 60 days later.

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone has used a train ticket as proof of an onward ticket, and if it was accepted by AirAsia staff at Kuala Lumpur International Airport. The ticket I intend to buy is from Nong Khai, Thailand, to Vientiane, Laos.

Many thanks in advance!

Looking to return to Thailand, in November. Last time got a 60 day tourist visa and extended my stay by 30 days. I am looking to stay again with my girl friend. The visa rules have now changed, I am looking to return using a 60 day tourist exemption and like last time getting the exemption by 30 days.

My queries are:

Do I need an invitation letter from my girlfriend re accommodation? Just book my flights and go and show IO invitation letter and return flight ticket along with proof of 20000Baht.

last time I booked flight for full 90 days, knowing I was extending my stay. Is this still okay???

Or will I have to apply for a 60day tourist visa + 30day extension

I look forward to your response

Thank you

Frank

Am I right in thinking that for 60 day visa you need an onward ticket of some sort? Family all under 50, UK passports

Hey y'all, just an update on my trip to Laos for visa exempt. It was not necessary to go with dollars because they accept thai baht at Wattay Airport in Vientiane (this detail is not specified in the website). Vientiane is a great city, I really liked it. A nice mix of east and west. In case anyone is interested, they have cool vegan restaurants there. I stayed in a very comfortable and affordable airbnb called Villa de Mekong. I bought the onward ticket but they didn't even ask for it at Don Mueang Airport. Anyway, better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it.

Thanks for all of your advice and suggestions! I'm going to get an extension on my visa exempt and stay until the end of April.

Stay cool everybody, it's hot out there.

I have applied for a o visa in the USA. I only have a incoming flight because I don’t know how long I will be able to stay since I don’t have my visa as of today. If I get my o visa I was hoping to extend my stay when I get to Thailand. Do I need to have a departure flight now or can I get one later? Do I need one before I fly to Thailand? If my intent is to stay longer do I still need a outgoing flight? If I am awarded a o visa for 90 days do I need to purchase a flight before arriving in Thailand departing before the 90 days are up? Thank you.
