Lee is correct it's an absolute nightmare and the decision is an absolute coin flip. I'm on third attempt to get my wife of 6 years a Visa at the moment. Using an agent this time and even he said it's near impossible ATM to get a visitor visa for a Thai wife.

visa exemption is for genuine tourists. It's literally the rule. Same rule in pretty much every country in the world.

Every immigration officer globally investigates and determines if you are a genuine tourist and if you are entering on the correct visa.

- Agree. It has made my life easier. Especially opening bank accounts. I have had mixed success using it to get Thai price for national parks and tourist places with dual pricing. But always worth a shot in case it works.

It's because your asking for a 7 day refusal. It comes into effect the day they process it, you would have less time if they did it now. Just go ask for standard 30 day extension.
