Hi I am a bit green at this travelling to Thailand from the UK but have seen some posts of people getting turned away at immigration because to many visits in a short time and it has me worried a bit. I came to Thailand to visit my girlfriend in May for 20 days, then i booked for to come back for 28 days in November, but then she asked me to come back in september for my birthday, i am only staying for 13 days then. My question is will i have a problem coming back in November as it will only be 6 weeks between my visits, any answers will be appreciated cheers Steve

TLDR : Answer Summary
Steve is worried about potential issues with Thai immigration due to his frequent visits from the UK. He has visited Thailand multiple times within a short span, raising concerns about being turned away. Community responses generally assure him that as long as his total stay does not exceed 90 days across his visits and he's not overstaying or border hopping, he should be fine. Suggestions include carrying proof of funds, onward travel, and potentially applying for a tourist visa for peace of mind.

The thing we do for love ! 🥰 be careful and don't over stay your tourist visa allowance, I'd get a visa, and if you are a regular tourist. Pot luck at the immigration desk, too many entry stamps can cause suspicious

I've just come back in today and immigration was the easiest its ever been. No one was there . In and out in less than 5 minutes

Probably not. You're spending a lot more time outside of Thailand than inside, you're not even using up half your 60 day allowance on any of the visits... Your pattern says "tourist" rather than "resident." (Especially if you're going all the way back to the UK in between visits.)

A lot of varying stories and experiences, at the end of the day its down to your luck with the Immigration Officer you get. I come 3 or 4 times a year for 26 days on visa excemption I have sometimes been asked intended length of stay but I arrived on Sat 12th and no questions just stamped in and wished a good stay

You should be fine. You aren't coming for 60 days, extending, then border bouncing.

If you are coming for short stays on visa exempt and not extending your stays at immigration you should be perfectly fine. Despite frequent visits you are actually acting like a genuine tourist. Despite this it may be worth having the three proofs with you when you enter.

1. 20,000 Thai baht or equivalent in cash

2. Proof of address in Thailand

3. Proof of onward travel within 60 days of entry.

Good luck

Probably you will be just fine, but in the end it’s all about the immigration officer.

So if you’re worried, get a tourist visa, cost less then 30euro and you are home free

tourist visa is useless at this point. Maybe next year get a multiple entry tourist visa, but the normal one does not guarantee you entry and is rendered useless by 60 days visa exemptions

no, it’s not guarantee you entry to the kingdom, but it will give you bigger chances then visa exemption, so if the guy is worried, he should get one

But most likely he will be fine without it

I think as long as you stay less than six months in total a year you should be OK. It's people popping over the border and back every 3 months they don't like

To avoid being denied entry, 1) don't do extensions on visa exceptions. 2) when you exit don't go to Cambodia or Lao for a day and then come back. Instead go to one or more of Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Korea, and/or Japan for a week or two before coming back

No because it shows you're a genuine tourist. The ones having trouble are the people who stay in Thailand for 60+30 days visa exempt then pop to Cambodia for a day and then try to come back on another visa exemption.

Not true. Last year I travelled 4 times to Thailand. The last visit I was questioned a lot and the officer asked a supervisor if it was ok to let me through. My first trip this year was ok but for my second trip in May the officer had attitude. (Checking everything and taking a long time. ) Lucky I had an evisa. I feel I could have been rejected if not for the evisa.

Yes. I think so. I did here a suggestion that it's better to approach a male officer rather than female. Next visit I will be trying this.

Pay an agent like a lot of the ex pat dross and you'll be fine. If you're a genuine tourist, watch out.

because those who've abused the system, and I've met 100s in Jomtien, Pattaya, Bangkok and Chumphon, mean the genuine tourists are now being denied. The abusers line agents/ immigrations pockets ..

Your girl friend is expensive?

Many people want to know how the sex industry is going on in Thailand.

Can someone find a lady to get married and live in his country????

inquiring about marriage to a (prostitute) bar girl, if so I would think the answer would be the same in every country. At which point the only other questions to get future disposition would be, is she educated or from a poor family; how old is she; does the family mama know her profession; does she clean & cook excellent Thai food. Actually all that matters is keeping the household clean, taking care of the pets & cooking top restaurant quality food & carrying out to satisfaction, duties in bed.

Being married makes little difference - it's more about money. If you've no money and no spending ability, Thailand doesn't want you

It's not really about how many times you go, it's about how long you spend in Thailand. All of your trips combined is still less than 90 days so you shouldn't have any issues.
