I live in Cambodia at the moment on a 6 month visa and I want to go back to Thailand to study Mandarin Chinese this time (had a Thai ED visa a few years ago), but the school is asking me to get a tourist visa before I come back and apply.
I would like to know if the Thai embassy actually grants tourist visas to foreigners living in Cambodia and if there are no requierements like having to prove that I am a permanent resident (retired) or something like that. I can’t apply from my home country as I haven’t been there for 10 years and I am not planning on going back.
I have no history of border, of visa runs, or
any warnings from immigration, been visiting Thailand since 2001, but never spent more than 3-4 months a year
TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreigner currently in Cambodia can apply for a Thai tourist visa at the Thai embassy or consulate in Phnom Penh. It is essential to prove legal residency in Cambodia, which can be demonstrated through the local address and visa entry stamp. There are no permanent residency requirements for obtaining a tourist visa. The application process has moved online, allowing for an easier submission of necessary documents. However, it's important to clarify whether the school requires a tourist visa specifically or just a 60-day stamp.
