I don’t know about wise in Australia but in Switzerland, I transfer to a Swiss branch of JP morgan chase doesn’t your au bank application just asks for approval? Sms is a bit outdated and not the most secure. If your bank did their job you don’t really need s VPN in my opinion

Depending on where you come from, the culture shock might be too big. You probably have to get a feeling for it before you invest in a longer term visa. You would lose quite some money if you buy the visa just to find out you hate the place 😂

Lucky you. Bangkok bank tolme i can’t open a 2nd account with same passport. Mine is from isaan but I’m living in Bangkok now. More convenient having a local branch
