TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around finding the easiest destinations for border bouncing to obtain a 180-day visa stamp while traveling from Thailand. It emphasizes air travel due to concerns about long bus journeys, especially for those with disabilities. Suggestions include flying to neighboring countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Laos, while considering travel factors such as travel costs, visa requirements, and proximity to Thai borders.

Depends where you are.

From Chiang Mai, you have direct flights to Da Nang and Hanoi.

From Bangkok, everywhere.

From Samui, i don't know.

Is this about the DTV ? It was possible to apply within Thailand ?

is have to leave every 360 days. So yes, dtv might include border runs. I just plan in advance 🙏

I am no pro at this but I think you have to consider some factors. What country are you from? Some countries require a Visa for entry. .e.g. if you are American, you need a visa to enter Vietnam. No visa on arrival.

But you can go to Malaysia and get a Visa on arrival. So just be sure you do that research before you choose where to fly out to.

One of the neighbouring countries I'd of thought be easiest but depends what you class as easiest...?

Cost of flights or total cost with hotel & transport unless you stay at airport hotel...?

If Visa is required or paid on arrival..?

Total travel time ...?

Location from within Thailand...?

If your live or are based close to a boarder or not ...?

I'm presuming you're in BKK...?

Safe Travels & I hope find the most convenient way to undertake your trip...

Seeing as this visa is only 6 weeks old there's no way you can be anywhere close to having used the 180 days you get stamped in for on it when you arrive.

Getting the cart before the horse a bit aren't you? I mean wondering if you can do an out and back bounce now ?

As long as you stamp in-&-out of another country (if that country issues entry/exit stamps) you should be able to do an out/in.

The visa is after all a 5 year multi-entry visa with each entry getting you a new 180 day stamp.

That sounds logical. Since OP wants to fly, Malaysia could be a good choice but we don’t know OP passport.

If you have gotten the DTV visa, I would think you can border bounce, in and out of any country.

sorry I'm not sure about the new DTV, but it's a multiple entry visa, so I can't see why not, providing the country you bounce at, allows to leave the same day, but when I previously had an METV, doing border bounces with Lao, was very easy at the land borders, going from Mukdahan or nong khai, I just walked around in a circle and back into Thailand the sme day.

thanks. Since I’m handicapped, it’s very inconvenient to drive in a bus/minivan to nong khai. That’s why i thought just fly to vte, turn around to check in to Bangkok again. At least found out that I don’t need a visa for laos 😱
