TLDR : Answer Summary
The best place to wait for your mother at Suvarnabhumi Airport is on the 2nd floor, specifically at the arrivals area near the taxi pickup point. After she clears customs and collects her luggage, she should turn right and look for gate numbers. A popular recommendation is to meet at gate 5 or near the 'meeting point' signs. It's also advised to communicate the meeting gate number clearly, as there are two exits from customs. If your mother requires assistance, booking a wheelchair in advance is suggested, and staff can guide her to you.
Arrivals is on 2nd floor. After she pass the immigration, she will collect luggage, then customs, then she will come out. When she comes out, she will trun right thats everyone heading to. Tell her to look at her left side where she can see the gate numbers 1,2,3 etc. You pick the gate number (for example 5), wait there and tell her to look around (from your direction, those numbers will be on your right side). Or you can also tell her there is a sign "meeting point" where everyones waiting and your able to see whos coming out. You cant go further than that point.
She will see gate 10 first, not 1,2,3. 1,2,3, are at the far bottom. Gate 5 is the waiting area. So she needs to pass 10,9,8,7,6 and he will be waiting at 5 for her.
it doesnt matter which number she will see first. The most important is just pick gate number and wait there. Or like I said wait at the "meeting point" sign. So they wont miss either way
Turn right out of customs. Tell her to walk down from gate 10 to 5 where you will be waiting. Very easy, this is how i meet my elderly parents and never a problem. Also a good idea is for them to carry an Apple air tag, this way you can track their progress and location incase they get lost. Thats if you have an iPhone of course.
my mum is in a similar situation. She is 86 and arrives on 28 November. She is departing London with Thai air business class. Can she request a wheelchair in London for arrival in Bkk ?
I’m worried that she’s lost and follow the exit/taxi sign. She has never been to a huge city and there are more people living in my condo than in her town 😂
