I recommend spending a few months here before even thinking of permanently moving here. I had multiple 3 month-visits and changed my mind about places to live multiple times. People ruined their lives before. I have a decent pension and don’t live in luxury but a good life. I’m not thinking about getting citizenship though
I used airportels in suvarnabhumi B floor. They’re also in don muang and even some shopping centers. Caution: if you ask staff for directions, they might understand airport hotel and direct you to the hotel which has an entrance in the same floor. They even deliver the luggage between locations and to/from your hotel. I left my wheelchair towing machine with them. You can take the airport rail link easily with you carry on right next to their counter
thanks. Since I’m handicapped, it’s very inconvenient to drive in a bus/minivan to nong khai. That’s why i thought just fly to vte, turn around to check in to Bangkok again. At least found out that I don’t need a visa for laos 😱
is do the same. When telemarketers call me on my swiss line and i don’t pay attention to which line they call me, they don’t like when i pick up in thai. At least they hang up pretty soon
is dont know much about American cell phone carriers but i believe technology is the same everywhere. Just be careful if you have data roaming active on your US sim, it will cost you an arm and a leg if you receive a photo or something while you’re not on WIFI. That’s why I’m on prepaid for the foreign line. Even when i accidentally get charged, i can’t lose more than the 10$ i have on it
I was able to change my home country phone plan to prepaid and just keep a minimal amount on it. Works fine for receiving 2 factor auth text messages. So I have a thai and swiss sim ( one is eSIM). I just turn the swiss line off or at least disable roaming. If i expect a text, i turn it on for a minute
