Should I print my approval email before flying back to Thailand, or is it enough to show it on my phone?

Hello, I’ve just been approved.

Before flying back to Thailand , is there anything that you should print off to give to immigration? Or just show the email at the airport?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When reentering Thailand after obtaining a visa, it is strongly recommended to print a copy of your visa approval email. While some travelers have successfully used their phones to show the email, many have reported needing a paper copy to avoid complications with immigration officers. It's advisable to carry printed documents to prevent issues that may arise if your phone is lost or malfunctions.

Always take paper copies, always carry hard printed copies of everything, if you lose your phone or it decides to die on you, you’re stuck. Good luck.
James *******
You need to print off your last holiday photos to Thailand as immigration could ask.

As far as I know it's mandatory to print it, doesnt the approval mail say so?

I would definately print it. While as above guy states it may not be needed I have entered Thailand before and been in sticky situations with cranky IO where a paper is much easier to convey what you want to convey rather than fumbling with a phone.

There was a person here who discussed digging a paper copy out of her bag after an officer requested it upon reentry. Might not be bad to have one on you just in case.

yeah sweet, would it just be the PDF that they attach to the approval email to print off and show them?

Anonymous participant That PDF is your visa, so yes.

Everybody has said it needs to be printed but I got in at Phuket with it on my phone.

it’s clearly stated that evisa needs to be printed, period. Of course most immigration officers will be ok. But what if one applies the law and play stupid and you don’t have your visa printed ?
Nin *****
@Romain ***
I understand it says it needs to be printed on the website, but it doesn’t say it in the email with the visa which is where I looked before I left. I’m merely stating that I got through ok without it. Any time I have entered Thailand with a visa it has not been printed and the immigration officer has asked to see it, so they must be aware of them anyway.

as I said, it’s just the rule. You can cross 10 times a highway by foot without watching and survive, does it mean it’s smart or it’s a good reason to do it ? No…

I have a printed copy in my passport. Bit of a germaphobe and wouldn't want the IO handling my phone.
