I'm in the same situation. I have multiple sources tell me that I need to cancel the extension BEFORE the extension ends, in order to qualify for the visa amnesty.

ok. from what i understand, there is not yet complete clarity as to what (if any) extensions will be available at the conclusion of the amnesty on July 31st. Is that correct?

wow thanks for following up. here's the facts (and 2 questions). i am in hua hin. my studies will officially end on June 8, 2020. i did not cancel my current extension yet. **Do I need to cancel before June 8, or can I cancel anytime before the amnesty is over?** I did not yet do the marriage extension. my visa company in chiang mai says it can be done, but from what I can tell, it is not possible to change an extension of stay started in chiang mai to one in Hua Hin. **Am I wrong about that?** So I (hopefully) at the end of the amnesty, after cancelling the ED visa, will go to Savanakaet Laos, apply for marriage visa, and then do extension in Hua Hin.

And then the next extension I just file in Hua Hin? What I understand is that the first time I do the marriage extension, it is sort of provisional and they will do a home visit and check all the info is accurate. Is that correct? And does moving from one province to interfere with that process?

Sorry if my question was not clear. If I make an extension based on marriage in Chiang Mai, and then I want to move to Hua Hin, what process should I follow? Simply update address and at the time of next extension, go to the Hua Hin Immigration Office? Sorry if this is too obvious.

Andrew let us the situation in Chiang Mai. I've seen posts about immigration being quite busy. Very curious to know what happens, how many days before your expiration you go, other details. thanx

how long can the affidavit be used? is there a time limit to use it?

ok. the reason i ask is that i have an ed extension that will end in June. so even though it ends in June, I ALSO have to cancel it through the language school/local immigration office?

sorry if tangential... but is the normal process for the end of an extension to simply leave the country a day or two before the last day of the extension?
