@Wells *****
you can book 5 nights. A cheap hostel is like 120 baht per night.

Landlords have to pay tax on rental income, and Airbnb is illegal, so they can't pay their taxes, which mean they'll get into trouble if they report you staying there. At least that's what they're afraid of.

Check into a cheap hostel, get a receipt and the hostel's business card, and go to immigration afterwards for an address report and extension.

if thai immigration rules are giving you a migraine (which is very common), take a look at the Philippines. No visa issues there, just enter on a visa exempt stamp and stay up to 3 years at each entry 👌

Are you using your e-sim or trying to connect your English sim to AIS?

most likely. I'm just looking for something to stop the cough or at least make it milder so I can do normal things without coughing every 5 seconds

Any ticket out of Thailand is okay. You don't have to go where you came from, just leave Thailand.

UK citizens can get a Wise debit card and use it to withdraw money from their Wise account. No need to transfer the money to Thailand first. It's a great solution that I unfortunately don't have access to being from Sweden 😑
