I've talked to SCB about this and they basically refuse to let you open a bank account without a work permit because "the head office said so".

I talked to their customer support yesterday, while at the bank branch and they asked me to bring every document I used to apply for my DTV and a resident certificate to see if "maybe" the bank will let me open an account.

It's easier to buy a living tiger in this country, than it is to open a bank account.

@Sarah *****
my entire process is in the post above. I had a freelancer contract, stating I worked remotely, so I sent that in.

HK didn't ask for any other documents about my work, just my CV and portfolio.

if you put them here, everyone can see your questions and get the answers they need too.

Always submit as many documents as you have, that support your application.

If you have everything to begin with, you don't have to go print stuff and go back to "resubmit" documents.

Congratulations! See you in Thailand🥳

No, you will get 180 days again, every time you enter the country for 5 years.

It's unlimited entries, and you get 180 days each time you enter.

When I applied, I submitted a brand new contract, stating I was working remotely. The contract has been active for 3 years but the updated one I sent to the HK consulate was only 4 days old.

It had digital signatures too, as I wasn't going to wait for a contract to be mailed here from Europe 😅

No, there are no such rules. You can enter as many times as you want, as long as you're not using the visa exemption to live in Thailand long term
