About cover letter : several applicants mention submitting a cover letter. For soft power, where exactly can we upload the cover letter? In the 'Supporting documents' page you can upload only evidence for 3.current location, 4 financial evidence and 5.proof of confirmation to attend the activity; there is no field where you can add a cover letter.

I want to ask about your experience reporting 90 days in Thailand via traditional post:

1) How to be sure they actually received my letter and approved report? What type of shipment I should choose?

2) When should I send the letter, which immigration office? Relevant to city? I'm in Bkk.

So, I have news about the closed Thai bank account situation. My account, like many others, was closed because the SIM card wasn't in my name. I registered my SIM card in my name with AIS today. That wasn't a problem. Then I went to Bangkok Bank. The lady told me I was very lucky because my account was opened before 2023. All accounts created after that, i.e., 2024, were "unlucky," according to her; she can't do anything in those cases. I also asked if I could switch to a DTV visa. She told me that in that case, the account would also have to be closed. So, the only option would be an ed visa/non-o. It's a shame that Thailand now has friends at the WEF. There's no other way to explain this.

People making jokes about my „wef“ line. Would be nice if you guys type in google „wef Bangkok bank“ and explain me this:

Yes, Bangkok Bank is invited to the World Economic Forum (WEF) as one of Thailand's private sector members and a global company member. The WEF invites members to participate in its meetings, where Bangkok Bank has been represented and is a supporter of the Thai private sector's engagement at the global event.

Hello group!

Just got my visa approved 2days ago. I applied via soft power at the general consulate in Munich/Germany (as I’m a German passport holder). The whole process just took 7 working days, no further documents requested, no questions asked. Happy days!

Thanks goes to the employees of the consulate and all the people in this group for their helpful hints and tips! It seems to be an easy application if you meet the criteria and do your homework. I followed this group for a few months before I sent my documents and checked the embassy website for the requirements.

Just one open question is left: At one website there was stated that there’s no 90day report needed for soft power DTV holders. Is there a difference between workation and soft power regarding the 90 day report? I have no problem with doing the report, but if it’s not necessary, I have one more day for my training course.

Hello everyone, I would like to ask if anyone has experience with deportation from Thailand and applying for a new visa.

My friend is Spanish. About 2 months ago, he came with a tourist visa but was rejected at the airport because he had done too many border runs last year. He stayed in the immigration quarantine zone for 1 week before flying back. The officer did not blacklist him, but we believe there is a record of deportation.

Now he wants to apply for a DTV visa. We are worried if the previous deportation will affect his chance to enter Thailand again. As I understand, the embassy and immigration do not always share information closely. I also heard some people got a DTV visa but were rejected at the airport because of fake or missing documents. In our case, we have all real documents with evidence.

Our question: Will his past deportation cause a problem for entering Thailand with a DTV visa?

If anyone has similar experience or information, please kindly share. 🙏

Hi everyone, I need some advice about the Thai visa.

I applied for a visa back in August ( in Paris ) but my trip is only from December 13 (I already included my flight ticket and hotel bookings for those dates in my application).

Since the application was made more than 3 months before my trip, I’m worried that if the visa is approved, it will start from the date of approval and may not cover my travel period in December.

Has anyone experienced this situation? Do they issue the visa starting from the approval date, or do they take into account the travel dates shown in the application?

Thanks a lot for your help!
