My fiancee and I are moving to Thailand in January and I’m hoping someone here can point us in the right direction regarding the DTV visa.
Over the past year my fiancée hasn’t been able to work due to health issues, so I’ve been the only earner. Because of that, we haven’t saved much.
I *can* show over 500,000 THB in income from the last 6 months through invoices, but I don’t currently have that amount liquid because I reinvest a lot back into my online business.
My fiancée has recently started a small freelance gig too, so we’re both digital nomads. Just without the full liquidity right now.
I read on a few websites that a sponsor can be used for the DTV visa. My father is willing to write a sponsorship letter for both of us (so 1M TBH in total), but I’m not sure if that’s actually allowed or accepted in practice, and if this specific case is an option.
Has anyone here used a sponsorship letter for their DTV application?
I will be applying in London for the Workcation DTV in in Feb time and I am aware they might ask for self assessment tax proof. I will not have any proof because I will be applying in February and I can only file my self assessment in April. My freelance work started in May 2025 so I do not have a completed tax return yet.
Do you have any suggestions for what I should provide if they ask for this?
DTV question (Hanoi vs Taipei vs KL) (Softpower vs Job contract)
I’m a contractor for a company and I have my own freelance business.
First question is which one of those 3 should I go apply next week?
Second question would be should I go through to Muay Thai school route or rely on my contractor job position? (Not sure if it matters, I’m a sales director as a contractor, not full time employee)
I was in Thailand on tourist visa in August and was there two month. Now I want to apply for the DTV but the thing is I’m work as remotely freelancer will I face problem if they see that I had income during my two month of stay?
Hi, I’m applying for the DTV visa as a freelance business analyst and have just started working independently.
I’ve set up a professional website and created a brand name to present my services more professionally. However, I’m not yet registered as a business, and my income is currently below the £1,000 turnover threshold for self-employment registration.
For my initial invoices, should I issue them under my personal name, or should I include *both my name and my brand name*?
I’m concerned that using only the brand name might *prompt requests for business registration documents*, which I don’t yet have.
My goal is to ensure the visa process goes smoothly, will it open a can of worms adding my brand name on the invoice or is this something that is recommended since I'll be sending screenshots of my website.
Hi everyone, I have a question about the DTV visa.
Right now, I’m holding a Non-B visa but I plan to quit my current job and switch to a DTV early next year.
👉 My concerns are:
• Could my history of having a Non-B visa be a red flag when applying for DTV ?
• What documents should I prepare if I want to apply under freelance/remote work? (I have some overseas transactions since I do some freelance tasks at my free time, but they’re not monthly. Would that be acceptable?)
• For bank statements: 3 months of stable statements from Thai bank. Would that be enough?
If anyone has gone through a similar situation or has switched from Non-B to DTV, I’d really appreciate your advice or review. Thankss🙏
I’m planning on moving to Thailand later in the year and getting the DTV visa, I’ve got a property rental business in the UK which has been trading for 9 months. Will this be enough evidence to obtain the DTV visa? I’ll also be doing freelance work in the construction industry but not sure how I can evidence this? Any advise would be much appreciated. Thank you!
I just received an email for requested documents for my DTV application, but I don't know what to submit. Even tho I submitted most of supported documents in the original application.
Here is the list of requested documents:
1. A copy of the company's registration/business license along with GST registration
I do not have a registered business. I work as a freelancer with independant monthly contracts. What documents should I submit here? Can I submit my client's LLC? What else should I submit to support my case?
2. Flight details and Hotel accommodation
I had submitted the flight number (no tickets) & agoda hotel bookings. Do I need to book a flight now and submit the ticket itself?
My hotel bookings were booked on 'pay later/free cancellation' option. And they have expired, do i need to rebook or should i just submit the pdf that was submitted in the original application?
3. A foreign employment contract or employment certificate
I do not have a employee certificate, although I do have a few client's contracts. I was also advised to add a letter head and stamp of your name at the top of the contract. What do you suggest?
4. Copies of all pages of the passport
I can submit these.
PS. I am applying at the Mumbai's thai consular in India. From other's experience, they tend to look for strong proof of regular employment and if one can sustain themselves in thailand.
I am very grateful for this group and the people in this community helping each other out 🙏. Thank you so much to everybody! All respectful opinions are appreciated!
Sending off my DTV application from the uk soon. I have the required GBP£ and some income coming in. Wishing to get the freelance option, any advice? Pursuing full time Muay Thai also. Any thoughts guys before I send it all off 😂😂
