Hello, I am hoping for some help on my visa application. I am working as a virtual assistant for an individual, not a company. In my original application I provided a work contract with my boss that explained my postion as well as a clause allowing remote work (specifically mentioning the Thai DTV). I get paid through Venmo, and had attached 6 months of payment transactions. I’m confused why they are requesting information that was already provided.

For the second requested doc, I will be attaching full Venmo statements highlighting payments from my boss, as well as a statement from my bank account that they deposit into with those deposits highlighted.

My main question is what am I supposed to provide for the first requested document? Since I already gave a work contract, should I just make a doc further explaining my situation? I don’t have a CV or portfolio because my it doesn’t make sense for my position.

I am applying from HCMC, Vietnam. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

I'm a freelance designer doing remote work pro bono for a charity based in Indonesia, which I visit a few times a year. I am living off savings so have money in the bank. The charity is willing to write me a letter describing our relationship. But since they are not paying me, will this be an obstacle to me getting a visa? I have a portfolio of work related to my role with them. I will be applying at the London Embassy.

Has anyone been able to obtain their DTV as a digital nomad/freelance solely using their NON MONETIZED YouTube channel as a portfolio? If you have, I would love to hear about how you did it. Thanks in advance.

I am an individual tax resident (not a company) and I sell software online (I don't have any contracts with clients). Can you please recommend to me what documents I should submit. My situation: I make a piece of software similar to a wordpress plugin, and I sell it from my website. All of my customers make a $25 payment that is processed through Paypal. I do over 1000 sales a year, and I transfer the money from Paypal to my New Zealand bank account. I pay tax in New Zealand as an individual , not as a registered company.

I can submit these documents:

*My website info

*My Paypal summary of sales

*My tax return

*My bank account showing the income from Paypal

Is there anything else I should submit?

DTV in Taipei for Remote Worker - approved!

I went yesterday to the Thai consulate in Taipei. Arrived around 9.30am. I had 4 people in front of me applying for the DTV and had to wait a while til my turn. It seemed like they spoke to everyone for 20 - 30 min.

When it was finally my turn, luckily it went quick, she looked through all my papers.

I recommend you have a conversion app open on your phone as she asked me to convert the amounts on my bank statements into THB and write it down.

This is exactly what I provided:

1. Passport

2. Visa application form from their website

3. Recent color photo with white background 3,5 x 4,5cm

4. Financial evidence of more than 500k THB on personal bank account (your name must be visible)

5. Letter of Employment (written by myself in my company name and signed by me)

6. Documents of my LLC formation in the US - she checked if my name is on it.

7. Letter from the IRS with my EIN - again she looked for my name on it

8. Freelance work contract with my main client, stating I can work remotely and my client lives outside of Thailand

9. Recent invoices I have sent to clients from the past few months

10. Transactions of my business bank account from the past few months, matching the recent invoices as incoming payments

11. Print out of my website, showcasing my freelance services.

I'm fully aware that I probably delivered more than asked on the website and I'm so glad I did.

She took all my papers and said come back at 3.30pm. I went back in the afternoon to hear it was approved, paid the 11k TWD in cash, and today I returned to pick up my passport with the DTV. Needless to say, I'm soooo happy!

Thanks to this group for all the advice, it helped me a lot to prepare for this.

I highly recommend to bring more than suggested on the website. I talked with 2 other people and they were also asked to show bank transactions of incoming payments and invoices or paystubs. Definitely bring some along if you apply in the workation category.

If you want to apply in person in Taipei, hurry up as they switch mid November to evisa.

Good luck everyone! Thailand, here I come 🇹🇭

Hi All,

Apologies if this has been asked a million times but..

I have a trip booked for Vietnam early November, where I plan to apply for DTV.

Two questions: although I have a letter stating I do some freelance marketing work in the UK, a lot of my income comes from English teaching online via Preply. Preply don’t give out contracts so I can only show an income from there.. Will both options suffice?

Second Question: is the application for the DTV from the same website in all cases and it just depends on your location when applying?

Oh, and is a week long enough for this process does anyone know.

TIA 😉😊

I'm a videographer hoping to apply for the DTV visa as a freelancer. Would links to recent examples of my work on Vimeo cover me for my portfolio? Thinking of including these links in a cover letter. That explains my professional set up, along with some recent invoices for one off clients and contracts for a couple of upcoming events I've booked in. All of which are outside of Thailand. Does this sound like it will meet the criteria? Have any other videographers or content creators been able to get the DTV yet?
