I am currently in bkk on a 60 visa exempt entry. I am planning on flying to Malaysia and applying for multi entry visa. This is my way of navigating visa runs without any stress. I plan to leave on a Wednesday and come to bkkk back on Wednesday, is that enough to to apply for online abd receive the visa? Or do I need to stay in Malaysia longer?

Also, will this successful at navigating entry, I plan to split my time between countries and I don’t want any issues coming back and forth.

Latest news on Thailand Digital Arrival Card

By Barry Kenyon

Same day border hoppers – those obtaining extra time in Thailand by crossing briefly into Cambodia or another neighbouring country – do have to fill in the online TDAC form whilst waiting an hour or two before returning here. Those travelling with an agency may find the TDAC form is filled in by accompanying staff, but those travelling alone will need to deal alone with the new bureaucracy.

Most of those undertaking border runs are Destination Thailand Visa holders seeking another six months’ sojourn, visa-exempt foreigners looking for a further 60 days and some multiple entry non-immigrant visa holders who must leave Thailand after three months stay. Immigration officers at land entry points say that the rules and regulations for border hops are under review by a governmental working party examining visa exempt regulations and their many repercussions. For now, there are no national changes.

In other developments, foreign visitors at Thai airports who have not filled in the TDAC in advance may find computer desks and helpful officers on duty to assist the forgetful and the computer illiterate. The foreign affairs ministry has stated again that the TDAC has to be filled in 72 hours or less (not more) prior to arrival in Thailand. In general, inauguration day on May 1 went smoothly at airports and land and sea entry points, although some passengers believed they must print the confirmatory email to give to the immigration officer on arrival. In fact, it is OK simply to show him or her the email on your mobile phone.

Foreign visitors are reminded by the Thai cyber police about fake websites which charge a processing fee for completing TDAC before absconding with people’s biometric information and credit or debit card details. Investigations are underway and at least one fake site has been blocked already. The legitimate TDAC service is presently free but must be repeated before every entry to Thailand. Hello, I am planning to apply for a DTV visa soon. However, my passport expires in a little over 3 years.

My question is: will it be possible to transfer a DTV visa to the new passport? Whether it is an e-visa or a visa affixed to the passport by the embassy?

Indeed, I read on a Thai embassy website that DTV e-visas are not transferable to a new passport. If this is not the case, I should think about applying for a new passport before applying for the DTV.

Thank you for your information if you have any 🙏

Hello. Has anyone ever entered Thailand with a free visa and then changed to a retirement visa in Thailand? Is the process complicated?

Hi, helping my boyfriend who has some visa questions about his visa & work permit:

- He currently has a work permit under a Thai company, and it will expire on June 4th.

- His extension of stay is valid until July 31st but he isn’t planning to renew the work permit and won’t be working with the company anymore.

Is he allowed to stay in Thailand until July 31st (non b visa stamp), or does his permission to stay end once the work permit expires?

Does he need to cancel the work permit officially or inform immigration?

He’s planning to do the DTV in his home country. TIA!

Has anyone used an agent to open a bank account or has anybody been successful in obtaining a bank account? Having a Thai bank account would make life so much easier 😭
