What are your thoughts on covering the account number (except the last 4 digits) on the bank statements? I hate putting my full account number out into the world.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around whether it's necessary to show the full bank account number on statements when applying for a Thai visa. Opinions vary, with some users suggesting it’s acceptable to redact the account number, as they’ve been approved despite doing so. Others warn that omitting the number may complicate the approval process and suggest that applicants confirm with the specific embassy or consulate regarding their requirements.
I applied in Hanoi last month with only the last 4 of all my account numbers showing. They asked for additional documents and made me submit everything with the full account numbers showing. I did get approved after that.
Worst anyone can do with it is to send you money……But I suspect you can redact it. Call the specific embassy and ask. Every embassy/consulates have different rules
They wanna see 500k, just show that off. It doesn't seem a very complicated task to me. You can try your way but don't get pissed if your application gets rejected then
they are location specific so you would need to know the exact bank branch that the account was held at not just the bank name . It's not impossible but it's difficult to narrow it down to the exact branch. You can gpt it if you don't belive me.
i just looked into this after reading your comment. It isn't branch specific, it is region specific. Also, the type of account can be a factor. I guess it isn't as big of a security risk as I was thinking.
