When does the 180-day count restart after leaving Thailand?

Im sorry if this has been asked but I couldn't find any answers. When you leave thailad after the 180 days, when does the next 180 days start? When you re enter or from the day you leave? I hope this makes sense as I can't really explain itπŸ˜…

Also, I'll be getting the soft power visa. Do I ever have to buy more than one muay thai package? I have the gym in place I'll be using but not sure if im getting mixed up. I will be purchasing a package for 52 lessons, once they're used and I have left Thailand and re entered, do I ever have to purchase the muay thai soft power package again?

Again sorry if this isn't easily understood, I know what I meanπŸ˜…

TLDR : Answer Summary
The counting of the 180 days for your stay in Thailand restarts upon re-entry into the country after leaving. Each time you enter Thailand, you can receive another 180-day stamp. Additionally, regarding the soft power visa and Muay Thai lessons, once you purchase a package and finish it, you may need to purchase another package if you want to continue training after re-entering the country.

Yeah technically you could get 365 180 day stamps in a year…… I’m up to 12 180 days stamps since October πŸ«‘πŸ‘Œ

Following up on what Jef Mealey said cause I am free today 5555

So technically, you leave Thailand this morning and come back the same day, you get 1 180-day stamp. If you do it every day, you will get 365 180-day stamps.

He has got almost 12 180-stamps since October 😁

ahhh I get it!! Is there not a final 5 year date then? Im just thinking if I visited home and wanted to be here for like a month, it restarts once I come back to Thailand, you could make this stretch out forever 🀣
James ********
Anonymous participant nope. The DTV visa is valid for entry into Thailand for 5 years from the DATE it is ISSUED. Each entry gives you a New 180 day stamp during those 5 years.
Jef ********
Anonymous participant yeah technically when we all get into the last year of the visa towards the back half the entry stamps will start getting lower to reflect 5 years of your date of approval

For example my approval date is 12 November 2024 and my end date is 11 November 2029 so if I entered on the 10th of November 2029 I would only get a 1 day stamp. ( and most likely be asked to show a return flight the next day )

Anonymous participant 231 ok i did think this. So for example my entry date is 1st july, I have to leave by 28 December, but I come back around 30th January, my next 180 days start from 30th January? Does this make sense πŸ˜…πŸ˜…
James ********
Anonymous participant Correct βœ…
Greg ********
Anonymous participant Exactly. Your next 180 days starts the day you re-enter Thailand

Yes, that’s how I understand it.

Anonymous participant 231 ok, fab! Only thing im worried about is, it would over stretch 5 years by doing this... so would hate for the final year to be cut short! I'll do more investigating haha!
Greg ********
Anonymous participant Worry about that if it happens. Currently there are no issues and nobody can predict the future. Enjoy the visa as it is now. If anything changes deal with it then.
