I'm not sure whether this is the appropriate site to ask the following question, I hope so. My 90 day Report is due soon, I just paid my rent, asked for a new TM30 for doing the Report, now the place where I stay tells me: "the system is down, we've been struggling since yesterday". Our company actually do it on our behalf, but we have to supply the correct documentation, etc, in order for them to make the TM47 application.

Has anyone experienced a similar problem lately, I really don't want to pay a B500 per day once it expires!

Any advice will be appreciated!

Hi friends, my husband and I are going to apply for a 1 yr holiday visa in Thailand.

How do we do this if we don’t have accomodation secured?

We aren’t keen to sign up for a rental if we don’t know if we will be approved? Any thoughts?

Can a one month accomodation do as proof, or do we need to show a 1 year lease?

Thank you

"I want to ask about the bank letter for a 1-year extension. My Bangkok Bank account is from another province, which is about 6 hours away from where I currently live. So I want to get the letter from a nearby branch. Can I get the letter from any branch, or do I have to get it from the branch where I opened the account? If I get it from my original branch, it will take me another 6 hours to return. I’ve heard that the bank letter can only be used on the same day — is that true? Can someone advise me, thank you."

Hello everyone,

I’m an Afghan citizen and have been living and working in Bangkok for nearly 10 years through my own company.

I’d like to bring my father (60) and brother (30) to live with me. My brother has a mental disability and cannot work, and my father is retired. They simply want to stay here peacefully and travel back to Afghanistan occasionally.

As many of you know, it’s very difficult for Afghan citizens to obtain tourist visas—including for Thailand.

So I have one main question and would really appreciate your advice:

What is the best way for them to enter Thailand and stay long-term, similar to how I renew my visa annually?

Thank you in advance for your advice!

*P.S. Afghan citizens apply for Thai visas in Islamabad, Pakistan.*

A little Thai story. So, I hear that the Thai government has issued an edict to say that if people are scammed, then the banks will pay. One bank, my bank, promptly panics and tries to tighten up its system. Suddenly, loads of people - foreigners - who have the banking app (whatever that is) are being cut off because their phone details do not match their bank details. Now I, do not have the banking app (whatever that is), but when I was last in my bank, I asked about the problems and requested advice. Make sure your phone is registered to you was the advice. So today I go to the phone people AIS, and say "who is the phone registered to"? "Your wife", say they. OK, can I get it put into my name? "Yes, but not on this package. This is 10GB at 700+baht, and foreigner is only allowed to pay less than 500 baht, so you can only have 5GB package." "OK, says I, I'm more interested in getting my phone put into my name, so I have no problems with the bank. "Ok, says she, that can be done but you can only have 5GB, but we do have another package which gives you 10GB for 499 baht. Do you want that?" "Err, yes, whatever." So somehow, I've ended up with the phone in my name, paying 200 baht less than I was before for the same 10GB. Complete mystery to me, but I do love Thailand.

Hi...currently on a DTV visa but the 180day stay is nearly up. Am planning to go to Vietnam for a 10day break/holiday instead of just doing a "border bounce". Will I have to fill out the online TDAC form before I re-enter Thailand? Or not, because of the DTV?? Thanks.

Hey all, I’m planning of snowbirding every winter (November to May) in Thailand on a yearly basis (given that I like the first year, which I’m sure I will but you never know!)

I’m Canadian living in Canada right now but am looking for advice on DTV, I have the $15k for 3+ months proof requirement. Is this the biggest hurdle I am to expect with trying to apply or is there more? I can always come as a tourist and border hop this year if I face issues, wondering what other digital nomads are doing.

Lastly, my girlfriend is not a remote freelancer like me, but she does have the 15k evidence in her account. How do you guys typically deal with partners for these types of plans?

I don’t want any trouble with Thailand and border hopping is just as a temporary resort while I get things in order for the long run, but I do prefer options that have 0 risk.

Thanks in advance!

K bank account opening question. I’m visiting Pattaya to visit friends today, travelling from Phetchabun. Has anyone opened an account in Pattaya on a non O retirement visa with Kbank recently? If so which branch was it? My local branches refused me due to their particular rules.

Thanks in advance
