Hi all, thank you always for the valuable and helpful information. Does anyone know any good agency in Bangkok that can support getting a tax number and filing an individual tax return? I got my DTV and would like to prepare. Many thanks for your kind information in advance!

If you are an American with the dtv and you 1) Stay in Thailand the first 6 months , and then 2) Travel to Korea for 1 week, and then 3) Come back to Thailand for the last 6 months, do you need to file special paperwork for taxes in US? Or do you just pay US taxes as per usual ?

Hi all, question about taxes (yay!). For those holding a DTV visa and are in Thailand longer than 180 days a year. How are you filing your taxes?

Hello. I've been traveling to Thailand for 6 weeks at a time (I work abroad, 6 on, 6 off) and have just come across the 180 day tax requirement. But I have some questions... I do not have and do not want or need a Thai bank account. I pay US taxes but will be qualified to have my income covered by the foreign income tax credit this year, so I shouldn't owe anything other than the SS / medicaid. Given these factors, do I still need to pay taxes or file anything in Thailand since I'm arguably not bringing money into a Thai account? I'm interested in applying for the DTV so it'll make my leave breaks easier but I'm not sure if I can as an independent contractor or if this would complicate tax issues..

I just want to make sure I'm doing everything legally but also don't end up paying Thai taxes if I don't even need to pay US taxes.

Tax Residency - If a foreigner holding the DTV stays in Thailand for more than 183 days within the same year, do they automatically become a tax resident and eventually have file tax returns there?

Thanks in advance for your insights!

Hi everyone,

I'm an engineer currently living in Thailand on a DTV (Digital Work) visa. I've been staying here for over 180 days, so I have to pay taxs in thailand

I'm now looking for a trustworthy and knowledgeable accountant or tax advisor who can assist me with my personal income tax.

If you have any recommendations for reliable firms or professionals-especially those who are experienced with expats or DTV visa holders.

Please share the information.

With a retirement visa what are the tax implications for sending money to your thai bank account?

And is there a time factor involved that influences tax.

Also....is there a minimum amount of time i have to be in Thailand while I have a retirement visa?

I have been told by my employer that I am OK to work remotely in Thailand on a pert time basis 25 hours per week.

This suits me fine as I was going to retire/semi-retire.

Is anyone else doing this from the UK as I would like to know about the double tax arrangements and whether this forms any part of the DTV application.

Wish to check. Having a Thai marriage visa is eligible for yearly tax return when I work in Thailand ? I'm currently on working visa now and got to know I'm not eligible for tax return if I continue to be on working visa.
