Hello everyone!! I am applying for a DTV visa in the HCMC embassy or Hanoi consulate and would like to ask for some kind advice from you regarding my situation. I have my questions listed at the end of the post.

(This may be too long but I would really appreciate every comment as I tried to consult the agency before and they tried to raise up the price from 30K to 55K baht in two weeks. I’m stunned)

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

>Background (can skip this part when reading and come back for references)

⁃ I worked in Thailand as a salesperson from 2022 to early 2023 with a NON-B visa and a work permit. I quitted the job in the early 2023 and changed to 6-month Muay Thai visa, training Muay Thai.

⁃ After my Muay Thai visa ended in October 2023, I flew to visit home for a few months. I started working remotely as a salesperson at a company from the other country that is not Thailand and my home country in November 2023. The contract stated that my location was in Thailand, because I was renting a condo in Bangkok (The rental Contract is Aug2023-Aug2024) and did not want to get taxed in my home country. I usually receive my salary through WISE.

⁃ I came back to Thailand in January 2024 and proceeded to get an ED education visa. I had been working remotely with the ED visa until July 2024 as I took a career break. I am now applying for new jobs and will get one shortly.

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

>I am planning to apply at the HCMC embassy or Hanoi consulate at the end of this month.

Other than photos, passport copies and visa application form, my current documents include:

⁃ Cover Letter and CV: introducing myself, what I do

⁃ 7-month Bank Statement(Issued by the bank in my home country): amount equivalent to 500K baht (500K baht has been in my bank for half a month, not very much transaction going on this account either as I receive my salary through WISE and I have other Thai bank account opened since 2022)

⁃ Work Contract from November 2023

⁃ Rental Agreements in Thailand [One appeared in my work contract (Aug 2023-Aug 2024) and one I am residing now (July 2024-July 2025)

⁃ hotel booking in vietnam

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

>My questions include:

1. Are the HCMC embassy and Hanoi Consulate good choices or are there any more recommendable embassies or consulates?

2. Must the 500K baht equivalent be in the account for certain number of months for the HCMC embassy and Hanoi Consulate?

3. Rental Agreements (?): Should I attach any of them?

4. Pay slips (?): I would not attach them in the first place. Should the embassy later require it, I can attach my WISE pay slips but they will only show from Nov 2023 – July 2024. I will attach a letter explaining that I am taking an unpaid leave from July 2024-Now. Do you guys think this is a good idea or should I include this information that I am on an unpaid leave now since in the cover letter? Any advice please?

5. Bank Statement: Should I also attach a bank statement from a Thai bank? Many transactions in there were transferred from my WISE account, which I usually receive salary from.

6. Bank Guarantee (?): Should I request for one and attach it?

7. Tax Return (?) : I would not attach them in the first place. Should the embassy later require it, I can attach it but it will show that my salary has not been taxed.

8. Do you think it is a good idea to apply for the DTV visa now or should I wait until I can get a new job, and I can ask the company to issue me the letter guaranteeing that I am working remotely with them? Because now I only have work contract and I’m a bit panicked.

9. Should there be any more documents I can attach please?

ㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤㅤ

Thank you so much for your contribution! Have a nice day 😊

Hello everyone! I have a question please.

I have my bank statement issued on 13 Sep (the record dated since 7 months back in Feb) I’m thinking of booking an online appointment to apply for a DTV visa on 30 Sep at the Hanoi Consulate or on 4 Oct at the HCMC the embassy. Would this bank statement work as it’s issued two to three weeks before the visa application date? Thank you!!

Hi. Wondering how many successful DTV holders here from London embassy ? Or if any one from Uk had problems obtaining. My personal experience is only for NON B multiple entry in April this year. Instead of multiple I only get single entry but was charged x3 for multiple and I know I can forget about the refund.

Sorry if this is something real simple that I am missing, I have tried looking multiple places but can't seem to get the answers I'm looking for. I am currently on a 60 day tourist visa exemption. Going to bkk immigration this week to extend for another 30 days. When those 30 days are up, can I leave Thailand and come back in on another 60 day tourist exemption visa? Or is there a limit to how many you can do in a year?

I applied for the visa and received it within 5 days. I applied on Monday evening, received an email requesting additional documents by Wednesday midday, submitted them straight away, and was approved by the end of the day on Friday.

To be honest, I approached it quite casually and didn’t put much thought or effort into it. When I first submitted the application, I included some documents, but as I said, not much effort: I attached a plane ticket for an onward journey (I wasn’t sure when I actually wanted to travel yet), one bank statement, one payslip, and one of my contracts (which was only for 3 months). They then requested additional documents (as shown in the picture).

For proof of remote employment, I wrote the letter myself (with help from ChatGPT), explaining that I do contract roles remotely, etc. I didn’t use anything fancy, just a Word document, and signed it as the director of my company. I didn’t even sign it manually—I just typed my full name and added 'Director of [company name]'. I then took screenshots of my last 3 job contracts (3 months each) and included them in the letter.

Note: I only established my company in January this year, and I started contracting the same month. I also submitted a bank statement showing three times the amount of money they required. For the photo, I took a selfie with my phone and edited the background to white as requested.

I also bought a proper plane ticket and sent the proof of it.

Settle status doc as proof of address.

That was it. It was for the UK embassy. I hope this helps!

DTV holders and 90 day reports.

It has been confirmed to me that DTV holders ARE required to do 90 day reports if they stay in the country that long.

Despite what you may have seen in a video on YouTube it is NOT the truth about 90 day reports not being required.

Just like most other long term visa holders if you stay in the country for a consecutive 90 days you report to immigration.

Your first 90 day report from entering Thailand will need to be done in person. As most DTV holders will leave or bounce they probably won’t do a second or more report, so won’t use the online system anyway.

Just got my DTV from Hanoi offices. The ladies were super cool, helped us pull everything together.

I gave 7 months of bank statements and invoices, plus the below.

I definitely suggest drafting a letter that explains all the documents provided, and I got both of the companies I freelance for to put together a short contract and had letters from both companies stating my role and how long I had been with each company

No appointment necessary at this point, we just walked in
