I had traveled to Asia for work and vacation many years prior to moving here. I didn't come here to get a wife or gf, but rather because I love the people and the countries in Asia far more than i love the screwed up US, so I would never consider returning to the US for more than a visit, but "put the shoe on the other foot"! Would anyone be happy living in the US on that type of income? I think not! Also, anyone here that thinks the US has more to offer should stop marrying children here and improve their income to support a wife already there. This story tries to make the girl look bad, but honestly I think she is doing the right thing to improve her standard of living and guys that do this should consider that before taking a woman to the US or any other western country.

I brought the woman who is my wife to the US. We took time building an in person relationship over 5 years as I traveled back and forth. We then had a traditional Thai Buddhist marriage, but did not register marriage in Thailand. This was followed three months later by our US marriage. To get her to the US I hired a US born atty living in BKK and applied for a fiance visa. Took about a year to get done I chose the fiance visa because I wanted her to have a three months in the US to decide if she wanted to stay before having a formal US wedding and working to change her over to a marriage visa and get her a green card. We are now married over 10 years, of course with ups and downs due to cultural differences. I should also say she was about fifty and I was 55 when we met.

If you are going to be in a relationship with someone who you are bringing to the United States that person yes 10 years age difference max. I would say 2 years or less probably best IMO. You want someone who will be if similar values and life history. I have a Phillipean woman friend here in the United States. Heard this story with MANY guys who brought women back to the states with them from other countries too . Not just Thailand , but also many European counties as well . Truth is , you never know how a woman will behave, ESPECIALLY a young woman . They are by nature , SUPER unpredictable and ALWAYS looking for the better deal . This can happen even with a woman you find right in your home town . And with the many social media platforms today (where young women gets a plethora of attention from random guys) it makes things even more unpredictable as these young women today have lost their sense of reality, at least until they’re in their 30s and can’t find man to be with them more than just for sex. Your young friend is in a great position as a man . He’s got the BEAUTY of time on his side . So he needs to cut his losses and learn to be alone for a bit and focus on self improved and let the parasite have her freedom . She’ll be calling him in a year , but by then he’ll have already moved on to something better ! Men with health and even a LITTLE cash are in a super good position in almost ANY country if he can be patient .

It's statistically known as being the most promiscuous country in the world with the highest rate of infidelity in marriage. Age gap is irrelevant at that level. Secondly, bringing ANY woman from a developing country back to your home country shifts the power imbalance. Now she's the prize, and you're the average schmuck. People tend to think illogically when they are in love, so I'd urge this individual to learn his lessons quickly and make his choices with a more objective evaluation next time.
