I could think of many different reasons to publish this kind of statment to scare people. You could be one of the many upsets by this DTV visa : Agent, holder of non O or elite visa, troll ect... As other people in this group already said.

These stories are always published by anonymous post AND they never ever provide a proof of what they said. You still can show a screen of the stamp out of Thailand then the stamp-in 48 hours later, but my pinky finger tells me that you won't 😄. Prove me wrong ?

I do not trust your publication. Your story about the person sitting next to you getting his visa canceled is laughable. The fact you said that you witness this entiere process, that barely took an hour, is a non sense. I will leave you one opportunity to prove the opposite : Send us a screenshot of your entry/out stamp in dubai and the stamp of entry in Thailand the supposed 48 hours later. But i am almost sure you will not do it because your story is a fairytale

i mostly use grab food and i shop in central, i buy gasoline at the station, so ATM is fine (no extra fees for this). i pay my rental by transfer, in THB, (no extra fees too). This is true that i pay 220 THB for every withdrawl, but i make sure to take 30.000 THB in one time. Also, with Wise, you pay and withdraw directly in THB and you get the best exchange rate. This app offer muuuchhhh better rates than any Thai banks. Check it out yourself, you might be surprised.

15 years here, i still don't have or need one. Wise app works perfectly, you can pay almost everywhere by card or instant transfer, or get cash in THB if needed

The problem is some (most) visa agents charge very expensive for this service. Much more than an accountant for a tax filling. It is not unusual to see a price of 50 to 80K fto apply or a DTV visa. And non of them guarantee the outcome.

i don't want to be "the boring guy in the room" but there is no such thing as a "true" digital nomad. You are supposed to pay your tax somewhere. You can read this excellent article to understand the concept

1 mln USD but not able to show 500K Thb or equivalent is real currency to apply for a visa... 🤔 ? Freelance is unlikely to be accepted as you will need company registration documentation + probably income tax return (my pinky finger told me that you most likely do not have any)
