Hello,

As a crypro investor/trader, can i apply for DTV visa?

Can i show my crypto balance (worth over 1 mln usd) as portfolio?

I am not employed, been freelancing since 15 years ago, in marketing and trading. Have invested most earnings into cryptos.

Im gonna choose “freelance” in the form.

Any advice?

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about eligibility for a Digital Nomad Visa (DTV) in Thailand while being a crypto investor/freelancer with a significant crypto portfolio. Comments highlight the difficulties in using crypto assets as a financial basis for the visa application, emphasizing the requirement for verifiable income or substantial funds in a traditional currency. Suggested alternatives include considering other visa types like the Elite Visa or Long-Term Resident (LTR) Visa, as funding sources for the DTV visa must be more stable and predictable.

Unlikely to succeed. Go elite visa and be done with it.

If you freelance you need to submit a portfolio such as client invoices. You can also write a letter explaining the nature of your freelance work together with the portfolio and other proof you have as a freelancer

You will need to evidence your work, be that a portfolio or regular payments being made to yourself.

1 mln USD but not able to show 500K Thb or equivalent is real currency to apply for a visa... 🤔 ? Freelance is unlikely to be accepted as you will need company registration documentation + probably income tax return (my pinky finger told me that you most likely do not have any)

there is no minimum income. Just show what you've got from freelancing in the past (invoices), and a portfolio.

If you are a trader, show your P/L statement from trading

Someone said in comments before that stocks/crypto dont count since they fluctuate quite heavily. Do you have an LLC where you send yourself some form of "salary" for expenses? You can create a contract for yourself with that LLC, explicitly stating you can work remotely from Thailand, with that company.
