FYI—

As there was an update to the Thai eVisa Website yesterday on 27 December 2025, the Category Selection for a Non–O E–Visa for those aged over 50 years old has changed to:

" Those who wish to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days (single entry) "

TLDR : Answer Summary
On December 27, 2025, an update to the Thai eVisa Website changed the selection criteria for the Non-O E-Visa for individuals over 50. It now allows for stays in Thailand of no longer than 90 days with a single entry. This prompted discussions about whether annual 'O' visa extensions now require leaving Thailand for renewal.

So to renew an annual 'O' visa extension you now have to leave Thailand??

no this is to buy a Visa from a Thai Consulate in another country before you come here.

Has nothing to do with getting a yearly extension inside the country at the immigration office

The non-O visa has always stated for less than 90 days, because the visa gives you 90 days in Thailand. You can apply for an extension, but that has nothing to do with your visa application.

no I think it's just a change of wording

Also comes up with this pop up when you select where you are
Tod *********
For the OA visa it's "Those who wish to stay in thailand no longer than 1 year (multiple entries)"

You get this pop up telling you it's an OA
Tod *********
For the OX visa it is just the choice "Those who wish to stay in thailand for 5+5 years (multiple entry)"

You get this pop up telling you it's an OX
