FYI—

As there was an update to the Thai eVisa Website yesterday on 27 December 2025, the Category Selection for a Non–O E–Visa for those aged over 50 years old has changed to:

" Those who wish to stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days (single entry) "

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Thai eVisa Website has updated the Category Selection for the Non–O E–Visa, specifically for individuals aged over 50. The new provision allows this visa type to be utilized for a single entry stay in Thailand for no longer than 90 days. This raises concerns regarding the renewal process of the annual 'O' visa extension, with implications that holders may now need to leave Thailand to renew.

no this is to buy a Visa from a Thai Consulate in another country before you come here.

Has nothing to do with getting a yearly extension inside the country at the immigration office

The non-O visa has always stated for less than 90 days, because the visa gives you 90 days in Thailand. You can apply for an extension, but that has nothing to do with your visa application.

For the OA visa it's "Those who wish to stay in thailand no longer than 1 year (multiple entries)"

You get this pop up telling you it's an OA

For the OX visa it is just the choice "Those who wish to stay in thailand for 5+5 years (multiple entry)"

You get this pop up telling you it's an OX
