oh and my phone here takes 2 sims so it's always 'on' as secondary sim. Very easy

I had it sent to a uk address but the first use was here. Maybe they changed the process now. I think I paid £10 which seems to last for ever. They remind me to use it for an outgoing sms every 6 months to keep it active! Otherwise only incoming sms from banks etc.

I got a sim from giffgaff for exactly that purpose. Great service and value

You have been more than patient. Tell the agent if it isn't fixed within 48 hours you will replace it with same model and deduct cost from next rent. Agent is doing a lousy job.

Be aware prices will rise as you age. Cigna almost tripled by premium after a birthday although I had never claimed. They said I had reached a higher risk pool!
