Good evening, does TM 30 have an expiration date if I never leave Thailand? Someone told me that after 2 years I have to do the tm30 again even if I did not change address and I did not leave Thailand crossing the border. Is it true? Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM30 does not have a technical expiration date, but it can be affected by your movements within the country. If you stay at hotels or other temporary accommodations, new TM30s may be filed, potentially overriding your existing address. Each local immigration office may interpret the rules differently, leading to varying experiences. You should monitor your 90-day reporting to ensure your address is correctly registered.

You don’t have anything to do with TM30! It’s your land,it’d, or hotel.

If you travel around the country and stay at places that file a TM30...then when you get home (incountry home) and do your next 90 days..check and see if its correct ?

Office dependant and it changes when there are staff changes in that office. I've used the same office for 8 years and it has gradually gotten more strict. To begin with I could leave the country and return without filing a new TM30, then I had to file one on return from overseas, now I have to file a new one when I stay overnight in a hotel

I think its down to office your using? I never left, but after leaving the province they said I had to tm30 again, when i was doing a 90 day in the pattaya office?? Which was something I've never read or heard of before?? I think sometimes they just make it up as they go along...

the last room gave me TM 30 nearly 2 years ago, I never go out border, so I'm wondering if the next 90 day report I must make again TM 30 from same room or not. I don't want go immigration and waste time

Worst case your next 90 day may be rejected if you have stayed elsewhere and they filed tm30. Then you refile to get your 90 day done

There is no technical expiration date for a TM30 although there is a non compulsory field for “check out date” that some offices could say is the validity date.

However even if you haven’t left Thailand, but stayed in a hotel or hospital somewhere that could override your address in the system.

Some offices won’t care, some will only consider the existing record as the current address on file.

No expiry, BUT if you travel around Thailand and stay at a hotel you get a new one

Hotel are required to do your TM30, that's why they always take copies of passport.
