What happens if you visit Thailand as a Tourist, you get to Day 29 of your 30 day holiday in Thailand, plan to depart Thailand on Day 30, BUT you test Positive on COVID PCR Test, and need to stay 10 more days in Quarantine ????
After you complete 10 days of quarantine, and go to Immigration Office, to get an extension, or the airport to depart Thailand with your Negative PCR Test results, what would Immigration say regarding the 10 days overstaying your Tourist entry?
In Phuket, at a local test clinic, I paid for my own PCR Test and tested positive for COVID (mid January “COVID detected”), but never reported it to a hotel or hospital …. I changed my flight and extended my holiday for another 8 days, took another PCR Test and tested Negative …
If you pay for the COVID PCR test independently, it seems likely the results won’t be reported to “Thai authorities” to have you quarantined…
Perhaps the 3rd PCR test is for when you depart Thailand, when your holiday finishes, assuming you are returning to a country that requires you to take a PCR test 24 or 48 hours before departure from Thailand…

To depart from Thailand, Singapore Airlines check-in required proof of Negative PCR Test, taken with the past 48 hours, for everyone in order to receive your Boarding Pass.
Reckon all airlines, including Thai Airways, require proof of a recent Negative PCR Test at check-in at Suvarnabhumi Airport, or you won't be allowed to proceed through the process ... Once checked-in with my Boarding Pass, Thai Immigration never asked to see my negative PCR Test, nor did Singapore Airlines during transit in Singapore ...
It's a shame all airlines can't adopt a "Global Vaccine" Passport scheme and not require a recent PCR Test (Negative, No COVID Detected) document
