Check that your immigration office accept the 65,000 method, I have read some are reluctant.

I opened a second account to solve the problem of having many pages of transactions.

You can avoid the withdrawal charge by withdrawing the money inside a bank.

same applies though Tony, he can avoid the 220 baht charge by withdrawing inside the bank large or small amounts (depends if they want the convenience of a local ATM or are willing to queue up in the bank for a few minutes).

You will need the bank letter for the extension in Hua Hin.

I opened my account in HUa Hin and for my extension a year ago,I did it at Sriracha immigration and the bkk bank did the letter there without any questions asked. I would say if they refuse, tell them you want to transfer your account, but they will not want to do this.

@Robin *******
yes you are correct, but I guess if they can't afford 800k should they be in Thailand? What happens if they have an emergency?

I point out the risks, because some people will not realise they exist.

18,000 seems cheap, never seen anyone quote that amount before. I was quoted 30,000 just to get the visa using my own money (I never intended to use them, I was just curious).

As Brandon stated it is against the law and if the immigration officer is investigated, all of the visas wrongly approved are cancelled (yes this does happen). So you would have paid about 30,000 baht only to have to leave Thailand. Your choice.

Driving in Thailand is easy, much the same as the UK, so you will be fine.

There are a few things to watch out for, like giving way (even on roundabouts, when you are already on the roundabout) to cars to the right and roadwork signs in bright orange.

Cars often hogg the r/h lane, so undertaking is the norm here.

Expect lorries to pull out on you at any time and get used to motorbikes being all around you, but they get out of the way.

I've driven 50,000 km in the past 3 years here, with no accidents.
