As Brandon stated it is against the law and if the immigration officer is investigated, all of the visas wrongly approved are cancelled (yes this does happen). So you would have paid about 30,000 baht only to have to leave Thailand. Your choice.
Driving in Thailand is easy, much the same as the UK, so you will be fine.
There are a few things to watch out for, like giving way (even on roundabouts, when you are already on the roundabout) to cars to the right and roadwork signs in bright orange.
Cars often hogg the r/h lane, so undertaking is the norm here.
Expect lorries to pull out on you at any time and get used to motorbikes being all around you, but they get out of the way.
I've driven 50,000 km in the past 3 years here, with no accidents.
There are people that will do the translation service at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, before you submit your documents to them. You need an appointment at the Ministry to get your documents certified.
I don't normally recommend agents, but I wish we had used one for the marriage process as it's a lot of running around and arranging things. We were offered the service and the cost was not ridiculous, I wished after I had used them as it would have reduced our trips to Bkk. Things like arranging interpreters and witnesses was a pain. Good luck.
Soccer is what people from the USA call football, because they can't think of a more appropriate name for the game they play with their hands (throwing/catching/running).
The USA game is only really played in the USA.
The rest of the world calls the game you call soccer, football.
I did not say anything about marrying a person that is non-Thai.
I think if farang meet Thai people that are only interested in money, then yes I agree they will not care, but are you seriously saying every single person in Thailand can't be trusted.
There will be a lot of people that agree with you here (they probably live in Pattaya or Patong), but I don't.
I realise it would be ideal, but 28,000 is ridiculous.
If you open an account in Pattaya, the bank in Bkk can still provide the banking letters for immigration. Also, if you use the cardless withdrawal option on your phone to get cash from the ATM anywhere in Thailand without being charged a fee.
