Hello Visa Gurus/Superstars.

I extended my retirement Visa for a second year at Sri Racha this week, having previously extended in Hua Hin a year ago.

I arrived with all the required documents, bank letters, photocopies, pictures etc and was processed within 30 minutes. This included the Visa extension being inked into my passport and checked by the supervisor/manager. There is no under consideration period.

My question is whether this is normal procedure for the second and subsequent years (I am not complaining) and is this processing time a record (I thought it was amazing service).

Thanks in advance.

Answer summary

The user successfully extended their retirement visa for a second year at Sri Racha, noting a quick processing time of only 30 minutes. They inquired if this efficient service is standard for subsequent extensions. Community responses confirmed that for retirement extensions based on being over 50, there is typically no consideration period, leading to same-day approvals, although some offices may retain the passport overnight.

Thanks for your successful renewal of your one year extension of stay as retired in SriRacha ... that is a fine Thai Immigration office - as I experienced their fine service for several years, when I first retired 18 years ago.

.... I removed several replies about the use of Thai Visa Agents. Not Allowed to be discussed on this forum.

You have not extended your visa. Your visa ran out long ago. You are currently on an extension of stay based on being over 50 years.

there is no under consideration period for an extension based on being over 50 (retirement) 🙂 they're issued the same day except at some offices they keep your passport overnight and you get it the next day (Phuket and Jomtien are like this)
