OP - With all the money you are spending or plan on spending on Travel and such you could invest in a proper Tourist Visa... But just remember Thai Immigration / Border Control is being ever more vigilant of short period multi-entries... computer systems and linkages are getting better every few months ... It is not that hard to take a few days out and get a 60 Day Tourist Visa which can be extended by another 30 days at Thai Immigration ... OR Go Home and get a Multi-Entry Tourist Visa good for 6 months of multiple 60 day Entries - that for the most part will remain unquestioned ... BUT -- as said in Thailand -- Up To You...

I believe you can still piggy back on your husband's Non Imm O and Extension. Any change has not been discussed here

Normally for a METV Multi Entry Tourist Visa - you have to apply at the Thai Embassy / Consulate in your home country. The only exception in the Region with only one or two granted METVs on record to non residents is Kuala Lumpur. But don't totally count on it - could change. Financial requirement is usually equal to the equivalent of USD 7000 in a bank account.

Nok Air to Ubon Ratchathani - then taxi to the bus station. Bus to Mukdahan. If you are tired and want to go to the Savannaket Thai Consulate the next morning stop at the Kiengpiman hotel in Mukdahan - nice place and they will get you a taxi early to cross the bridge into Savannakhet. Or you can cross the bridge immediately after getting to Mukdahan and stay at the Avalon Hotel Savannakhet - nice place - easy to get to the Thai Consulate.

Flying in and out of Savannakhet is fought with poor schedules and high price.

The Presidents responsible for America's illegal alien problem began with Regan who was duped by Democrats that assured border security would be enforced, then Bill Clinton looked the other way, GW Bush was a wavering jerk who let millions of illegal aliens into America - BUT THE KING of illegal aliens was Obama who refused to enforce border security. Thank goodness Trump is enforcing long standing immigration laws.

I know the U. S. has a huge problem from lack of enforcement of immigration laws. America has about 20 Million illegal aliens and about Million Over Stayers and the Government has no idea where they are.

All this Work Permit and Various Visas .. B - Business visa and such reflect the Thai Government and Cultural point of view. And the underlying laws were created around 1979 ... The only changes have been bureaucratic 'adjustments' and modifications of those laws... A whole new set of laws are needed according to me and others ... BUT we have no say so... I supposed the reluctance to change comes from political risks ... as happens in many other countries such as my own country - the U.S.A which should have had a major set of Immigration Law changes 20 years ago at least ... but we just keep massaging the laws and rules... too much political risks to really do something constructive...
